Who we are

This website is run by Frewstar Ltd, a company registered in Scotland with company number SC884481. Our registered office is 8 Galt Avenue, Irvine KA12 0NW.

Frewstar Ltd is the data controller for the information described on this page.

If you contact us through Scout

Scout is the chat assistant on the homepage. If you use it, it collects:

• what your business does, and the job you’d like to stop doing by hand;
• a photo or screenshot, if you choose to add one;
• your name, and your email address or phone number.

When you press send, these are emailed to us. The email is sent through Resend, an email delivery service, and arrives in our Google Workspace mailbox. The website itself doesn’t keep a copy: nothing you send through Scout is stored on this site or in a database.

To stop the form being abused, the website keeps a short-lived count of how many messages have come from each internet address. The address is scrambled (hashed) before it’s counted, and the count is deleted after an hour.

We use what you send only to reply to you and to talk about the work you’ve asked about. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and then delete them.

If you WhatsApp or email us

Messages you send by WhatsApp or email are kept in those services and used only to reply to you and do the work you’ve asked about.

Analytics

We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store anything on your device, and doesn’t identify you. We see totals, such as how many people visited a page and which country they were in, not individuals.

Because nothing is stored on your device, this site doesn’t need a cookie banner. It sets no cookies at all.

The demos

The demos on this site use made-up data. Anything you type or choose in them stays in your browser, isn’t sent anywhere, and disappears when you reload the page. A photo you add to a demo is shown on your screen only and is never uploaded.

Who else handles your data

• Vercel Inc. hosts the website and provides the analytics (USA).
• Resend delivers Scout’s emails to us (USA).
• Upstash keeps the hourly message count described above (EU or USA).
• Google provides our email (Google Workspace).

Where data goes to the USA, it’s protected by the UK’s data bridge with the USA or by standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email founder@frewstar.co.uk and we’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
